Space. The final frontier. Nothing has intrigued the imagination of man more than outer space. The ancients observed the stars and followed their movements, mapping them, trying to understand all that surrounds us and our blue planet. For some lay answers to one’s personal fate and even the future of world events. For others it was a way of finding one’s place in the world, a form of navigation. Other’s believed in a religious phenomenon, believing the stars were closely associated with spiritual beings, perhaps even angels themselves.

What is our responsibility in voting social policy?
Watch over your liberties and privileges - civil and religious - with a careful eye.
– Matthias Burnett Tallmadge
Christmas is coming, have you started your shopping yet? The day after Thanksgiving marks the largest shopping day of the year, known as Black Friday. Second is the Monday after, known across the land as Cyber Monday due to sales being largely on-line purchases. The focus on gift giving can put a large stress on one’s personal finances. As such, there may be no better time of the year to re-think our money matters; no better time than to think-Biblically about finances.

ELECTING LEADERS
What is our responsibility in electing political leaders?
Ask anyone to compare the gospels and two facts will almost always be mentioned: (1) that John is the Gospel of Love, and (2) that Luke is the Historical Gospel. While it is true that John gives us a look into Jesus’ personal struggles and relates stories not contained in any other gospel account, it is not true that Luke is purely a historical account.

What is our responsibility when laws and leaders run contrary to Biblical teaching?
Whether it is right before God to obey you rather than God, you decide, for it is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.
– Acts 4.19
